Membership Plans
Mingles has two membership plans: FREE and GOLD.
FREE - with a free membership you can post your profile, add your photo and
voice message, use the PhotoChat rooms and the message boards, search for members,
receive email
from other members (and reply to email you receive), and use the hotlists and
surveys.
GOLD - with a Gold membership you can initiate unlimited email contacts and
winks with other members, receive priority placement in search results, access
mingle-matching
(find members who are interested in you), access private chat rooms and message
boards, get
priority support, and receive 100% advertising-free access to the entire site.
Searching
You can search the personal ads in www.mingles.com in several different ways:
you can search them based upon location and age; you can do an advanced search
with
very specific
criteria (location, age, religion, ethnicity, etc.); or you can look up a specific
profile based upon
a member's username.
Matching
The matching feature of Mingles helps you easily find other members that you
match
up well with. These are members that meet the criteria you specified as being
what you're looking
for, and for whom you also meet their criteria. It's a two-way match, and a great
way to quickly
find the members that you would most likely be compatible with!
Mingling
Mingling is an exclusive feature of Mingles that you won't be able to find anywhere
else. Wouldn't it be nice to find out who was interested in meeting someone just
like you?
Remember, mingling is different than matching or searching. Mingling shows you
members who have described someone like yourself as being the type of person
they are looking
to meet, but who don't necessarily meet your stated criteria. It's worth checking
these members
out... you
might find someone interesting that you're overlooking!
Photo Gallery
The photo gallery area of Mingles.com is an ever-changing photo collage of recently
active members. It's a nice way to browse through the pictures of members that
have used Mingles
today. The more often you visit Mingles, the more exposure your own photo will
have in the
collage.
Hotlists
Mingles gives you the ability to create your own personal hotlist of the members
that interest you. A hotlist is like a notebook. When you find a member that
you're interested in,
you can click the Add To Hotlist button below that member's profile. This will
put that profile
in your hotlist. You can then review the profiles in your hotlist at any time
by going to the Hotlist page.
Your hotlist will be saved from session to session, so the next time you log
back
on, your hotlist will still be there.

PhotoChat is a popular and unique chat technology. The goal in creating PhotoChat
was to have a chat system that encouraged interaction between members, and created
a
very friendly and supportive environment.
In a PhotoChat room a small image of the person chatting appears in the room
alongside what they type. If a member has attached a picture of themselves to
their profile,
this is the picture that appears in the chat room. If a member does not have
a picture in their profile
(or if they do but their profile, or photo, is currently hidden), they get to
pick from an assortment
of cartoon faces to represent themselves in the room.
Boards
The message boards are discussions between members about anything and everything.
You can choose to read the discussions, join in the discussions, or even start
a new discussion!
By reading the boards, you will get to know your fellow minglers in a relaxed
and
friendly environment. If you're interested in what someone has to say, you can
instantly
bring up that member's profile. The message boards are not chatrooms, so you
don't need to be
online at the same time other members are to interact with them.
Surveys
Interested in what your fellow minglers think about relationships? Check out
the
weekly surveys that poll our members on a variety of topics.
Love Shop
Mingles.com hunted down the best books on dating and the best music and videos
for
romance.
Set the mood with some of the recommendations in the Love Shop.
Email & Winking
Anonymous email is how you contact other mingles.com members. You may send email
directly
from Mingles by clicking on the email button that's displayed under each profile.
You will then be taken to a page from which you can
send your email.
You need to be a Mingles Gold member to email other members in this way. To reply
to an email that you received from another member for free, simply use the 'reply
to this
email' link that is at the bottom of the email you received.
Winking is a cool way to flirt with another mingles member. If you are unsure
what to say in an email, but still want to flirt with someone, you can wink at
them
(using the wink button
underneath their profile). The member will receive an email saying that you've
winked at them.
They can then decide if they wish to wink back, or maybe even email you back!
New member notices
On the profile page is a check box where you can elect to automatically receive
an email whenever someone new joins Mingles that matches your profile. This
is a great
way to keep track of who's new on Mingles without having to keep checking the
web site. You will
get a notification
when new members create profiles that match with yours, and also when existing
matches modify their profiles.
Voice messages
You can add a voice message to your profile. Upload a wav file to your profile.
Mingles will convert your message to a RealAudio file and attach it to your profile.
