camera) connected to their home computer which enables them to
broadcast live video over the internet. They broadcast live full
motion video which doesn't need any special software to view.
Viewers on the other hand don't need a video camera because
they just like to watch and chat. All you need is a PC which
is connected to the Internet.
The inspiration for www.CamContacts.net came about from a group
of unhappy VideoChat Hosts and Viewers who were using various
other
services on the Internet.
They simply got fed up with the way we were being treated. Here
are some real examples of what they say they found on other sites....
• VideoChat Host's technical problems were ignored.
• Viewer's access was frequently denied without being given a
proper reason, resolving the problem or simply ignored.
• When we chose a pay service we never knew how much it cost
...and on the very rare occasions we did find out, we were way
over charged.
Is Camcontacts.net Live?
If you are looking at the Who is online Now? section, then the
answer is YES!! Take a look at the text chat area and you will
see for yourself. However, if you are searching the full database
of Video ChatHosts then you will find profiles of ChatHosts who
are not currently online. You wont be able to see their Video
but they may have taken some archives snapshots during one of
their previous live broadcasts for you to view.
Is Camcontacts.net this really free?
Browsing this site is absolutely free. It costs nothing to search
and view the ChatHost's Profile, and to view their personal
past archive photo shots which they took while in front of
their Video Camera. However, because of the potential adult
nature of some of these archive photos that the ChatHosts take
they need to ensure you really are an Adult, they achieve this
adult check by validating your Credit Card.
However, some Video ChatHosts do charge for viewing their live
video broadcasts. It is entirely up to them if they are going
to charge, when and by how much. It is out of the control of
camcontacts.net. But one thing is for sure ...camcontacts.com
say that they will NEVER charge you for anything, guaranteed
, without you first specifically requesting one of these chargeable
Live VideoChat sessions, and even then
you will be given a warning before a charge is made.
What do I need in order to view the Video?
Nothing at all if you just want to watch and text chat with
the Camcontacts.net Chathosts! All modern browsers can see the
live broadcasts by the Chathosts without the need for any downloads
or plug-ins.
However, on the remote chance that you cannot see the video,
then the chances are your browser has the 'Java' option turned
off. You will have to look at your individual browser documentation
to find out how to turn 'Java' option back on.
If you would like to take advantage of CamContacts Sound and/or
CamToCam (Two-way video) functions, then you will need some extra
equipment. For Sound, which enables you to hear a Chathost speaking,
your PC will need a soundcard as well as either a set of speakers
or headphones. If you would like the Chathost to see you live,
then you will need a webcam. You will also need to download a
small software file to use these two functions.
Where are the archive photos?
You may hear a Video Chat Host suggesting you look at their Archive
Photos. These are photos the ChatHost has taken during their
current or historical live broadcasts. You gain access to these
photos from the Chat Host Profile. If you cannot see a ChatHost's
archive photos, then it is because you are not a registered viewer
or that ChatHost has not taken any snapshot photos of any of
their previous broadcasts.
May I Contact a Video ChatHost?
This is entirely at the discretion of the ChatHost. Obviously
there is no problem sending a ChatHost a message using the Send
Me Mail option from ChatHost's profile or you can place a message
on ChatHost's personal Forum. However, any additional contact
information such as ICQ, telephone number, address or even meeting
up in real life, is up to the individual ChatHost.
Absolutely anybody can join camcontacts.net. It is that simple,
and because anyone can join with the minimum amount of fuss and
